Show What You Know!

“Show What You Know” Expo

at Forest Edge Elementary on Wednesday, April 6, 2016

(Registration deadline Tuesday, March 8)

 

WHAT IS IT? A giant “show-and-tell” poster session, where students in all grade levels “show what they know” about whatever topics most fascinate them. Kid-driven, interactive, and way more than a science fair — the “Show What You Know” Expo is an everything fair! Each participant may choose any topic, so what’s on view may cover topics from eagles to Egyptology, from knights to knitting, from comics to chemistry, and beyond. Something for everyone!

WHEN & WHERE: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the cafeteria

WHO: All families are invited to attend the SWYK Expo, but students (all grades) wishing to present a display must register by Tuesday, March 8. Participation is free.  See attached registration form, guidelines, and flyer, which have been distributed via Friday folders and PTA Monday Mail; extra hard copies are also available in the front office.

ABOUT THE PROJECTS: Students will create their displays independently (without parents). Each display must include a trifold cardboard project board (these cost about $5 each and are available at craft and office supply stores; in case of financial need, please contact the front office). Additional items may be displayed in front of the board, such as dioramas, models, collections, artwork, constructions, machines, or other set-ups. For samples of the kinds of projects students have created for SWYK events, see the photos on our Project Inspiration page (additional photos coming soon!).
